On 26/07/2022, as part of the business trip to the USA, PTSC delegation, led by Mr. Le Manh Cuong – President & CEO, visited Equinor office and discussed the offshore wind development.
In this meeting, Mr. Ignor Volner, Vice President Business Development, Renewables and Mr. Teddy Muhlfelder, Vice President, Renewables, Empire Wind & Beacon Wind, had shared Equinor’s insights and experience about the project implementation, infrastructure investment (fabrication yards, installation works and O&M facilities) and logistics for Equinor’s two giant offshore wind farm projects of Empire Wind and Beacon Wind, which are under construction phases, in the East Coast USA.
Upon those valuable information exchanged by Equinor’s representatives, PTSC also introduced its capabilities, experience and existing infrastructure on supply bases and fabrication yards while taking strategic steps into the participation of providing the turbine foundations and offshore substations for offshore renewable energy projects in the region, as well as seeking for opportunities to become the investor and developer for offshore renewable energy projects in Vietnam. Impressed by PTSC’s capabilities, experience and infrastructure, Equinor’s representatives affirmed that PTSC is fully capable to provide services for offshore renewable energy projects and is a suitable local partner for investors of offshore renewable energy development in Vietnam. The meeting was cordial and effective, maintaining and strengthening the cooperation relationship between PTSC and Equinor for future offshore renewable energy projects.
PTSC presents a commemorative gift to the Leaders of Equinor USA
Equinor is a Norwegian state-owned multinational energy company and one of the world’s leading investors and developers for offshore wind. In the USA, Equinor is developing two large-scale wind power projects (Empire Wind and Beacon Wind projects) in the offshore of New York City with the total generation capacity up to 4.4 GW. Empire Wind and Beacon Wind projects will produce enough electricity to power about 2 million homes in New York City once commercially operated by 2026 and 2027, respectively. In Vietnam, PTSC and Equinor has conducted several meetings and discussions since 2021 for exploring cooperation opportunities in offshore renewable energy industry, especially in offshore wind projects in Vietnam.
